Macy’s and Herald Square at Night
Posted on December 6th, 2006 at 7:30 pm by Joergen

Christmas in New York City means bright lights and excessively decorated shopping windows. Macy’s and the other big department stores compete each year for the most elaborate windows of the season hoping to lure shoppers inside. I stood at this spot for about 30 minutes to take the 100 images for this panorama (one set with long exposure, one set with short exposure to blend them later). Every 60 seconds an animated lion in one of Macy’s windows would roar. Fun for the first five times, creepy after that….
Digital, about 17000×5200px.
