Queens Plaza

It’s been a while since the last post. North, east, West, South take longer than expected to edit. I also wanted to explore the shady side streets of Queens Plaza. It’s an interesting mix of brand new constructions, and old manufacturing buildings. I am pretty sure they will be gone in 10 years.
Digital, about 250 megapixel.

Bryant Part at Dusk
Posted on April 30th, 2007 at 8:10 pm by Joergen

Bryant Park closes after sunset, and security guards try to encourage people to leave. They got really impatient with me standing in the middle of the lawn. But the glowing band of buildings all around it, without much foilage (yet) was just to pretty to miss.

Part 2 of the series took a bit longer than expected to finish, but it’s done. Now the remaining two…

West

Part 2, or better part 1.5 of this series. Although “South” looks great, the plan of having 4 of them demands a bit more consistency, so I will reshoot “South” with more coverage towards top and bottom. Bob is fortunately very patient and kind in letting me use his office after hours and I shot “North” in the same night.

Update (4-30-07): I have now shot all 4 panoramas, and I am almost finished blending the first, the second one is stitched and awaits blending, and the remaining two need stitching. The images are humongous and take quite some time to open/edit/save.

South

This is the begining of a new mini series of non-panoramic panoramas. Square is nice too. I am planning to shoot one panorama in each direction and then have all 4 next to each other, so they will be a 360 degree panorama with seams, but a total of 1700 megapixels. The planned print size for those will be 180×170cm (72×68in) times four. Does anybody have a large living room to hang them?
Digital, about 440 megapixel.
